Alinea

Experiment 01 — People

A nine-month experiment aligning intelligence and consciousness.

Beginning December 21, 2026

The Alinea Fellowship brings together people working across consciousness, artificial intelligence, science, philosophy, economics, technology, art, design, and entrepreneurship.

It begins from a simple premise:

We cannot build genuinely new systems from the same unconscious assumptions, incentives, and patterns that created the old ones.

The Fellowship begins with internal and collective alignment, then moves into interdisciplinary ideation, team formation, and tangible creation.

Its intended outcomes include AI companies, tools, prototypes, economic systems, coordination mechanisms, funding models, cultural technologies, and new ways of founding and organizing companies.

Three phases

I

Phase IAlign

Months 1–3

The first phase focuses on internal, relational, and collective alignment.

Fellows examine the consciousness, motivations, values, assumptions, fears, incentives, and patterns from which they create.

The goal is not ideological agreement. The goal is greater awareness, coherence, trust, and clarity before building.

This phase may include

  • contemplative practice
  • somatic practice
  • consciousness research
  • philosophical inquiry
  • human development
  • group process
  • relational practice
  • systems thinking
  • economic and technological inquiry
  • exploration of shared principles

Questions held in this phase

  • What are we actually trying to create?
  • What are we optimizing for?
  • Which inherited assumptions shape our work?
  • How do fear, scarcity, ego, power, and status influence what we build?
  • Which forms of intelligence and value are currently excluded?
  • What qualities should be embedded in the systems we create?

II

Phase IISeed

Months 4–6

The second phase turns inquiry into new possibilities.

Fellows identify meaningful problems, emerging opportunities, and underexplored design spaces across AI, consciousness, economics, culture, coordination, governance, and human development.

By the end of this phase, fellows should begin forming teams around the ideas they are committed to building.

Ideas may be developed through

  • interdisciplinary research
  • collaborative inquiry
  • salons
  • facilitated ideation
  • prototypes
  • experiments
  • fieldwork
  • conversations with practitioners
  • economic and systems design

Potential areas

  • aligned AI applications
  • human–AI collaboration
  • tools for consciousness and human development
  • collective-intelligence systems
  • new ownership and incentive models
  • agentic economies
  • coordination mechanisms
  • governance tools
  • new approaches to work and organizations
  • funding mechanisms
  • cultural and experiential technologies
  • public-benefit systems
  • infrastructure for new communities and networks

III

Phase IIIBuild

Months 7–9

The final phase is dedicated to tangible creation.

Fellows develop companies, technologies, economic models, governance tools, cultural systems, protocols, prototypes, or other real-world ventures.

The goal is not for every fellow to produce the same type of outcome. Some may create venture-backed AI companies. Others may develop protocols, cultural technologies, research initiatives, economic systems, public-benefit ventures, funding mechanisms, or new organizational forms. What matters is that the work becomes tangible.

This phase may include

  • product development
  • technical prototyping
  • company formation
  • team formation
  • user research
  • business-model design
  • economic and incentive design
  • governance design
  • legal and organizational structures
  • storytelling and positioning
  • fundraising strategy
  • new funding structures
  • capital formation
  • partnerships
  • ecosystem development

Who the Fellowship is for

Alinea is especially interested in people working between established disciplines—those who combine depth of practice with the ability to imagine, collaborate, and build beyond the assumptions of their own field.

Formal credentials are not a requirement. Practitioners, self-taught builders, artists, and keepers of living traditions are as relevant here as researchers and founders.

The Founding Circle

Alinea begins with a small, invite-only circle.

Alinea begins with a small, invite-only circle of people participating in its earliest experiments, gatherings, research, creation, and development.

Members may contribute through the Fellowship, Alinea Temple, research, art, company creation, hosting, collaboration, funding, or other forms of participation.
